We are looking to revive the Hotdish as a fundraiser for the MN Lacrosse Hall of Fame to support Youth Participation Grants and New Program Builder Grants, Referee Appreciation & Recruiting Week Campaign and Annual Hall of Fame Gala & Awards Ceremony. The Hotdish was originally a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society by then MLA president Mark Hellenack. It was a cherished fall event that ran from 2002-2008 at Noble Sports Park in Brooklyn Park. Our goal is t raise $4,500 in donations, sponsorships, silent auction bids, concessions and player fees. We are counting on the generosity of the lacrosse community to support our mission to honor and grow lacrosse in Minnesota. ​

Age Levels: This tournament will have two age levels. Men’s and Women’s JUNIORS 18-35 and LEGENDS 35 & Older. Why should the kids have all the fun, so dust off your old equipment in the garage and pull a team of alumni together and sign up your team to relive your lacrosse glory days.

NOTE: Massage therapists and EMT trainers will be on hand. Bring Ben Gay, ice packs and your health insurance card, just in case. All players will be asked to sign a waiver and stay hydrated.

Date & Location: (Sat August 15 Looking to use two full size fields at Hopkins HS in Miunnetonka and break them into 3 smaller Sixes 70 x 30 fields.

Merchandise: Would you be interested in purchasing Hotdish merch (t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts. etc.) if made available?

Food Truck/Concessions: Would you want a food truck or a concession stand available if we could arrange it? What type of food/beverage would you like?

Format: This will be a Sixes format one day tournament. Each team consists of 10-15 players with a goalie and 5 offensive/defensive players on the field. We will play two 12 minute halves and 4-5 games over the course of the day long event. Winning Teams will receive the coveted etched Hotdish glass casserole dish. Teams would be responsible for their own reversible jerseys.

Contests: We are planning to have a Best Team Name and Beat Team Logo contest. What other events or contests, in between games, would you suggest we have? Oldest Player award. etc.

After Party: There will be a great after party at a local bar/restaurant with hotdish and adult libations of all kinds. We want to make this an annual fun event to reunite old teammates and the lacrosse community for a good cause. We are looking at the LTD Brewery or the Bear Paw Brewery in diwntown Hopkins as landing sport for the after party.

How you can Help:
1. Enter a men’s or women’s team. Take our Player Interest Survey to give use feedback on what you want it to be and we will keep you updated with all the Hotdish details and send you a registration form as it is available.
2. Volunteer we need staff to run concessions, field et up, scoringing tables, etc
3. Be a tile or supporting sponsor of the tournament and put your company’s all over the field, social media and our website and even on the schedule for everyone to see.
4. Sign up online and bid on stuff at our online Silent Auction in conjunction with the tournament.
5. Donate to the Hall of Fame to support our awards ceremony and help use put more sticks in kids hands with our Youth Participation and New Program Builder grants.
