WHERE WE GET OUR FUNDING…
YOU
The Minnesota lacrosse community
You, the entire lacrosse community supports our mission to honor and grow lacrosse in Minnesota. We are funded entirely by the generous donations received from club, college, high school and youth lacrosse alumni, players, their parents, coaches, officials, umpires, retailers, and really anyone who wants to see the sport grow and be honored in Minnesota. We do not count on membership fees to fund our mission.
SPONSORS
Companies that support our mission
We depend on sponsor and advertising funding to help support our missions through partnerships that are mutually beneficial and provide brand loyalty, awareness and return on investment within the lacrosse community, while helping to impact the affordability of the sport for low income kids, growing the game and honoring our best players, coaches, refs and contributors to the growth of lacrosse.
FOUNDATIONS
Charitable foundations that provide grants
There are several foundations that provide grants to nonprofits that align with their values and mission to:
1. Removed financial barriers to participation for low income kids, making sports more accessible.
2. Assist in providing sports programs and access to sports in marginalized or low income communities, making sports more equitable and divers
3.Boost self esteem, teamwork, social skills and a healthy lifestyles through sports, more opportunities to be active, play and learn the life lessons sports participation can provide in child’s development.

If you own a business. We would love for you to consider this $300 Table Sponsor donation option. it helps support our entire mission.
This is a low cost high value advertising opportunity that helps support our charity in a big way. In return for your donation, you will receive:
– a full page 8″ x 11″ color ad in the award ceremony program.
– a 8 x 11 table top ad at the table(s) you sponsor. You can sponsor more that one.
– logo recognition on the website as a supporter.
– Company name or your name on the website’s Donor Wall of Thanks.
– logo recognition on all promotional emails and social media related to the event
If you also donate a product or service for our silent and live auction, you will receive even more brand recognition as the silent auction will be viewed by the entire Lacrosse community in Minnesota.
This not a big ask and it’s quite affordable to most. We anticipate 25 tables with 150 guests attending this year’s ceremony. If we sell all 25 $300 table sponsorships, we stand to make $7,500 in donations, which is a large chuck of our projected 2026 budget.

Donation from your Company
How Matching Donations Work...
When someone makes a donation to an organization and has a matching gift program through their employer, the following general process typically occurs:
1. Donation Made: The individual donates to the organization
2. Matching Gift Request: After making the donation, the donor submits a request to their employer’s matching gift program. This usually involves filling out a form, which can often be done online.
3. Employer Review: The employer reviews the request to ensure that it meets their criteria (e.g., verifying that the donation was made, checking the organization’s eligibility).
4. Matching Funds Granted: If approved, the employer issues a matching gift to the organization. This matching amount is usually a percentage or up to a specific limit of the original donation.
5. Receipt and Acknowledgment: The organization typically acknowledges both the original donation and the matching contribution in their records and may send thank-you notes to the donor for the total amount received.

Often referred to as a planned contribution made to a charitable organization through a person’s estate after their passing. This type of gift allows individuals to leave a lasting impact on a cause they care about, even if they may not have the means to donate significant amounts during their lifetime. If interested, please contact HOF president, Mark Hellenack at 952-457-4515. Here’s how it typically works:
1. Planning: Individuals can include a legacy gift in their estate planning documents, such as a will or trust. This can be a specific amount, a percentage of the estate, or specific assets, such as property or investments.
2. Designation: The donor designates the charitable organization to receive the gift upon their death. This is often facilitated through a legal document, ensuring that the intent is clear.
3. Impact: After the individual passes away, the estate is settled, and the designated funds or assets are transferred to the charity, providing financial support that can help the organization achieve its mission.
Legacy gifts can provide significant resources for charities and are crucial for long-term funding and sustainability. Individuals interested in making such donations often consult financial advisors or estate planners for guidance.

For example a $100,000 endowment provides on average of $10,000 a year in funding assuming a 10% return on yearly investment.
